Mom's Cards

Mom made these cards at the scrapbook retreat a few weeks ago. I was so proud of her since she has NEVER made a card before. I think we got her hooked. :)

The pictures aren't the greatest but you get the point.

6 Years

It's been six years since my dad has died. At one point it seems like it hasn't been that long and other times it seems like it was a lifetime ago.

So much has changed in six years. I bought a house. My mom got cancer and kicked its ass after a long and hard battle. I had a son who is the most awesome kid I know.

I learned that life is too short to let most things bother me anymore. I learned that family are those people who have your back no matter what. I learned that I have the best friends I could ever ask for.

Life goes on and yet it doesn't.

I miss him.

Bathtubs and Playsets, Oh My!

It's been an interesting few days. First we found out that our tub has been leaking for a few weeks. After some trial and error, the huz finally figured out what was wrong it it. The bad news is that we'll most likely have to tear the bathroom apart next summer and fix it for good. We now just have a temporary fix and did what we could without tearing out walls.

Then he's been working on building a playset for little buddy (LB). Progress has been slow but the thing is huge so I suppose I shouldn't think it would take an afternoon to put together. One of the slides get delivered today (thanks, E!) so LB should get to play on it this evening.

I'm taking lots of pics of construction and I'll post them later.

I'm also working on building a paper mache haunted house to sell on my etsy page. Not quite sure what it will look like yet but I have some definite ideas.

Hope everyone is staying out of this horrible heat. I know I'll be doing my best to keep LB inside today but I'm sure that plan will go out the window as soon as E and mom get here today.

Tour

Back in June we spent the weekend in STL. LB went to his very first baseball game. We also took a tour of Busch Stadium which I HIGHLY recommend. Now, I'm not a big baseball fan but...it. was. cool. Very cool. The huz was like a little kid.

Included in the tour:

-a trip to the field but we were given specific instructions to not touch the grass.
-a trip to the dugout. THE dugout. As in we could actually sit in the dugout.
-a trip through the inner workings and private, private clubs inside the stadium.

Our tour guide knew lots of Cardinals history. Once again...VERY cool and so worth the $10 per ticket.

4th of July

Ok, so I know this is a little late but I finally downloaded my pictures.

The weekend of the 4th was a little hectic. Lots of friends to see, not so much time to do it in. Spent our Saturday at my BF's pool party. Spent the night teaching her how to make her very own altered birdhouse. Sorry, forgot to take pics. Maybe my friend can help me out?

Sunday was spent getting ready for a cookout at our house. We had a rousing game of baseball complete with our very own baseball field in the back yard. After dark we had a great fireworks show courtesy of the huz.

Monday was spent at mom's pool. Gorgeous day. We went to the local fireworks show. Bugs were everywhere. Fireworks went a little long. All was well.

LB came home at 7:30 from his grandparents house completely exhausted.

So...that means I got to keep crafting away through the evening hours.

Little Buddy has been hanging out with his grandparents in the pool today. I took the opportunity to make a few thinks and tinker around.

I'm going to add it to my etsy shop this afternoon. I'm having issues with the website right now but will list as soon as I can.
